Personalization isn't just about honoring your loved one's individuality. It also allows family and friends to feel connected to the services and the life being honored. We work closely with you and your family to get to know your loved one's life story so we can make their services as personal as possible.

DVD Tribute Videos

For every family using Oakwood for services, we will create a one-of-a-kind tribute video by combining family photographs, digital video clips, and professional effects.

In order to create this beautiful tribute, a link will be shared with your family to upload electronic photos from phones and computers. For hard copies of photos, our staff can scan those for you and upload them to your custom family link.

This video will be shared on your loved one's page and a hard copy of a DVD will be given to you as a keepsake.

Unique Venues

We often have families ask us, "What is normal?". The word normal is no longer relevant in funeral service. All over the globe, people are finding ways to honor tradition but also make their services all about the person that passed away. If a church or the funeral home are not on your list of where you want your funeral, think about some of these alternative options.

  • A favorite restaurant
  • A river boat on the St. Croix River
  • A local park or picnic shelter
  • A sporting event or big game
  • A golf course or country club
  • A community room or event center
  • A bowling alley or arcade

Customized Stationery

We will help you find the perfect theme to honor your loved one during your arrangement conference. We have two types of printing available for families, including both traditional printing and highly customized printing.

Personal Life Story

Many attendees at a funeral will know the family members of the deceased but may not know much about the person who passed. With this in mind, we encourage every family during our family arrangements to share many stories about their loved one. With those memories we can create an extremely personal story which pays tribute to the person who passed away. We have written sentimental stories, stories with a sense of humor, and even stories written from the deceased's point of view. The story will stay on our website permanently and is a beautiful way to let someone's legacy live on.

Memorabilia for Display

Although hobbies and interests are not the only important part of someone's life, they do play a huge part in how someone is remembered.

We encourage families to bring in memorabilia from their home to help honor their loved one. These items can include some artwork or decor from home, their sporting equipment or jerseys, a fishing pole and other gear, their motorcycle or canoe and oar, their favorite candy, and more. If it is legal, we will support it.
